Dunbrody - New Ross

We were down in Bunclody with our friends John and Brenda this weekend. We decided to head down to New Ross to take a tour of the Dunbrody (a recontruction of a ship used during the famine) which is supposed to be open to visitors (according to their website) only to find that it is closed for maintenance for the tall ships festival down in Waterford next week - I suppose she has to look her best if she's going to meet that lot :) There will be again in it that's for sure.

Sam and I have been on the Dunbrody when doing our tour of the south last year or the year before (my memory is shot) – we visited Tralee, Cobh, Blarney Castle, Killarney (done the Gap of Dunlow …absolutely the highlight of the tour)……and then on up to Waterford and back to dub…

The Dunbrody was very interesting….although I’m not so sure Sam enjoyed it as much as I did.

If you ever get to go again, they have some very interesting movies on display about famous Irish immigrants…………what they done and how they started when the arrived in the US.
